Animals are beautifully natural therapeutic beings. They are non-judgemental, recognising no differences between genders, age, race and sexual orientation.
Animals in therapy can help ground and sooth clients as they work through difficult emotional issues or problems. They can also be spontaneous, playful and joyful. In itself, contact with animals can promote feelings of pleasure and well-being in people.
Where requested, and a pre-assessment suggests this may be beneficial, Finding Ways is able to offer Animal Assisted Therapy in partnership with loveable Maisy (Cava-poo).
Maisy can be present to just "be" with a client, or to assist in pre agreed and graduating exposure work to address a fear of dogs, and to work with issues of self esteem and depression.
