Who cares for their care-givers?
Finding Ways recognise that parents, adoptive parents, foster carers and other parental figures may experience a variety of difficulties in coping with the emotional needs and behavioural issues of the children they care for and that this can take its toll on your emotional well-being.
Additionally, your own past experiences, or perhaps present anxiety, depression or grief can also impact your ability to show patience, positivity and empathy whilst supporting and caring for your child. This is not uncommon and not unexpected! You may find you need a little help along the way, and we feel strongly that you too should be able to access emotional support when needed. Many adults find counselling can be beneficial to help them work through their difficulties. [see also working with adults and young people].
